Mio Oka has been appointed as the Country Director for India by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), succeeding Takeo Konishi. Oka, with nearly three decades of experience, will lead ADB’s operations in India, working on fostering relations with the government and development partners. She will oversee the implementation of ADB’s country partnership strategy for 2023-2027, aiming to promote private sector-led growth with a focus on climate resilience, inclusive development, and job creation. A Japanese national, Oka has served in various capacities at ADB since 2005 and brings expertise from her previous roles in international cooperation agencies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
