Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reported a continuing grim flood situation in Assam on June 23, impacting 1.17 lakh individuals across 968 villages in 10 districts. The Kushiyara river in Karimganj is notably above the danger level. Currently, 134 relief camps and 94 distribution centers are operational, sheltering 17,661 people. Despite marginal improvement earlier, the situation remains severe with ongoing damage to croplands, infrastructure, and significant livestock impact. The Assam State Disaster Management Authority continues efforts amid challenges posed by the persistent flooding.
