AVG Logistics Ltd has leased a goods train from Chennai to Guwahati for Rs 105 crore. The six-year lease allows AVG Logistics to transport goods, including tyres, textiles, and FMCG products. While Indian Railways operates the train, AVG Logistics is responsible for filling it with goods. The scheme, known as Parcel Cargo Express Train, offers companies an alternative to booking an entire goods cabin, providing dedicated stops for loading and unloading. This move follows similar deals with companies like DTDC Express, DRTC Logistics, and Patel Roadways under the PCET scheme introduced in 2020.
