Bandhan Bank, a private sector bank based in Kolkata, reported a net profit of Rs 733 crore for the third quarter of the current financial year, marking over a two-fold rise from Rs 291 crore in the same period the previous year. The improvement in core income contributed to the strong financial performance. The bank’s total income increased to Rs 5,210 crore, compared to Rs 4,840.94 crore a year ago. The net interest income rose to Rs 2,530 crore from Rs 2,080 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. The gross non-performing assets (NPAs) improved to 7%, but net NPAs increased to 2.2%.
