The banking sector faces unprecedented levels of attrition post-pandemic, with rates soaring to 25-30%, significantly higher than the previous norm of 20%. Ujjivan Small Finance Bank’s MD and CEO, Ittira Davis, attributes this surge to the industry’s expansion efforts and competition for talent, leading to recruitment from both within the sector and small finance banks (SFBs). The bank, while aiming for branch expansion, is also prioritizing digitalization to maintain a balance. Additionally, Ujjivan SFB plans to introduce new offerings like gold loans and four-wheeler vehicle finance to diversify its portfolio amidst the evolving landscape.
