Bengaluru authorities are taking legal action against unauthorized flex banners in the city. Following strict instructions from Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has removed over 3,800 illegal advertisements from June 1 to 14. Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath reported that 76 complaints have led to 48 FIRs, resulting in fines totaling ₹75,000. The BBMP’s 2018 bylaws ban commercial and personal advertisements in residential areas and private properties. Citizens are urged to report unauthorized advertisements by calling 1533 or sending photos/videos to WhatsApp number 9480683939.
