Bharti Airtel subsidiary Telesonic Networks has been penalized for purported irregularities in claiming input tax credit during the financial year 2018-19. The penalty, totaling Rs 2,19,873, was imposed by the Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Audit) in Bengaluru under the Central Goods and Services Tax Act. Despite disagreeing with the order, Bharti Airtel plans to take appropriate action. Meanwhile, a significant partnership between Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) and Adani Power, marked by RIL’s acquisition of a 26% stake in a Madhya Pradesh power project, has stirred discussions in India’s corporate landscape.
