State-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has won a significant order from NHPC for the electro-mechanical (E&M) work on the 2,880 MW Dibang multipurpose project in Arunachal Pradesh. BHEL secured this order through intense international competitive bidding, although the specific order value has not been disclosed.
BHEL’s responsibilities under this contract encompass design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, and commissioning of the E&M package for the project. The major equipment required for the project will be produced at BHEL’s manufacturing facilities located in Bhopal, Bengaluru, Jhansi, and Rudrapur. On-site execution activities will be carried out by BHEL’s power sector – eastern region division in Kolkata.
