In response to the crisis in the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), BJP Chief J. P. Nadda summoned party MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for a meeting to address the situation. Wrestlers, including Olympic medalists, had restarted their protest after Singh’s associates took control of the WFI. Singh, who announced his retirement from the federation after the meeting, faced allegations of sexual harassment by prominent wrestlers. The Sports Ministry suspended the WFI, citing a violation of procedures. Nadda’s intervention aims to defuse the crisis and mitigate potential electoral consequences, particularly in states with a strong farming community.
