State-owned telecom giant BSNL garnered more than Rs 600 crore in the previous fiscal year by monetizing its underutilized properties nationwide. The company sold properties valued at Rs 311.78 crore, including a Chennai property acquired by CBSE, and earned Rs 319.31 crore through property rentals. Legal hurdles impede BSNL and its subsidiary MTNL’s monetization efforts, with issues ranging from profit-sharing demands by authorities to clearance delays from state governments. Despite challenges, BSNL maintains approximately 5,080 vacant spaces available for rent.
