Cairn Oil & Gas, a part of Vedanta Ltd, reported a 19% increase in its reserves and resources portfolio to 1.4 billion barrels of oil equivalent (Bboe) this fiscal year. The company’s Resource Replacement Ratio (RRR) surged to 533%, indicating a five-fold rise over the previous year. Notably, Gross Contingent (2C) resources grew by 33% to 1.126 Bboe, signifying a considerable expansion in potentially recoverable resources. This growth supports future production and aligns with India’s self-reliance initiative (Aatmanirbhar Bharat), with Cairn prioritizing sustainability and value creation in its strategic resource management plan.
