The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has uncovered a human trafficking network involving two Russia-based agents, Christina and Moinuddin Chippa, along with several Visa consultancy companies in India. These agents allegedly confiscated passports of Indians arriving in Russia, forcing them into combat roles in the Russia-Ukraine war zone. Victims were lured with false promises of high-paying jobs and admission to dubious universities. The CBI has filed an FIR under IPC sections related to criminal conspiracy, cheating, and human trafficking. Countrywide searches have been conducted, leading to the seizure of cash and incriminating documents.
