The Competition Commission of India (CCI) is conducting investigations into Google and Apple for suspected unfair business practices, according to the CCI Chairperson, Ravneet Kaur. The inquiry into Google focuses on alleged abuse of dominance in the smart television segment and news content space, while Apple is being investigated for potential anti-competitive practices related to its App Store. The Director General, the investigative arm of the CCI, is examining these matters, and further actions will be taken based on the findings. Google had previously faced CCI penalties and orders related to the Android system and PlayStore, with the matter currently pending in the Supreme Court.
