Bibhav Kumar, a close aide of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, has moved the Delhi High Court contesting his arrest related to the alleged assault on AAP MP Swati Maliwal. Kumar’s petition seeks to declare his arrest illegal, claiming it violated Section 41A of the CrPC, and demands compensation and departmental action against involved officials. Arrested on May 18, Kumar’s bail plea was earlier denied, and he remains in custody. Maliwal accused Kumar of assaulting her on May 13 at the CM’s residence. An FIR was registered against Kumar for criminal intimidation, assault with intent to disrobe, and attempted culpable homicide.
