Numerous companies are gearing up to enter the capital markets with primary and secondary equity offerings, collectively worth over Rs 35,000 crore, as India’s general elections conclude in early June. The election period, spanning two months and seven phases, has spurred a flurry of activity, with Maharashtra and Gujarat, key markets for investments, heading to the polls in May. Notable among the upcoming offerings is Vodafone Idea’s Rs 18,000 crore follow-on-public-offer (FPO), alongside issues from Adhaar Housing, Indegene, and Akme Fintrade, among others. Over 30 issues are lined up for the first quarter, contributing to the momentum in the capital markets.
