Fintech company CRED plans to introduce checkout terminals for large lifestyle merchants, including supermarkets and restaurants, after successful trials. These devices, ranging from pocket-sized to kiosks, will support UPI payments through any application. Merchants can apply for CRED Dynamic QR devices, providing rewards for specific users, cards, and transactions. CRED aims to enhance customer engagement by offering premium experiences for high-value payments, irrespective of payment method. The rollout of CRED’s devices will compete with offerings from Pine Labs and Mswipe. This move follows similar announcements from BharatPe and Paytm, highlighting a growing trend in the fintech sector.
