UNICEF reported that in Gaza, nine out of ten children lack essential nutrients for healthy growth due to prolonged hostilities and aid restrictions. This severe food poverty, found in 90% of Gaza’s children, endangers their lives, with many surviving on only two or fewer food groups daily. The conflict, ongoing since last October, has crippled food and health systems, leading to malnutrition-related deaths among children. Despite Israel denying limits on humanitarian aid, reports of famine and dehydration-related deaths in Gaza have sparked international pressure on Israel to facilitate food deliveries. Globally, 27% of children under five suffer severe food poverty.
