The Czech Constitutional Court has rejected Indian national Nikhil Gupta’s petition against his extradition to the U.S., where he faces charges of a murder-for-hire plot. Gupta, 52, is accused by U.S. prosecutors of collaborating with an Indian government employee to assassinate Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, who holds U.S. and Canadian citizenships. Arrested in Prague in June 2023, Gupta argued his case was political, but the Czech court found no violation of his rights. The final decision on extradition now rests with Czech Justice Minister Pavel Blazek.
