News aggregator Dailyhunt is reportedly in advanced talks to acquire Koo, often considered India’s alternative to Twitter, in a share-swap deal that may be finalized in weeks, as per a TechCrunch report. Koo, owned by Bombinate Technologies, co-founded by Aprameya Radhakrishna and Mayank Bidawatka, has raised over $60 million from investors like Tiger Global and operates in India and Brazil. Despite becoming the second-largest microblogging site after Twitter in November 2022, Koo witnessed a decline in monthly active users, falling from 4.5 million in January 2021 to 1.7 million in September 2023. Dailyhunt is a Bengaluru-based news aggregator valued at $5 billion.
