The Delhi High Court has mandated the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) to provide a 4% reservation for disabled individuals, which includes those who are deaf and those who have hard of hearing. The court emphasized that 1% of these reserved positions should be allocated to deaf and hard of hearing individuals. The directive stipulates that the appointment of disabled persons, including the mentioned groups, should be completed within six months. This decision aims to address the “mismatch” in the understanding of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act among various departments.
