The Delhi High Court has stayed the elections of the Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) a day before the scheduled date. The court intervened due to the VFI’s non-compliance with an August 2022 order and violations of the national sports code. This move follows a recent intervention by the court in the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) elections. The stay was granted in response to a petition filed by Amir Singh, a former India international and Arjuna Awardee, highlighting concerns about the electoral college’s non-compliance and inconsistencies in the VFI’s constitution. The election has been stayed until the next hearing on March 21.
