In response to recent bomb threats via email targeting schools, hospitals, and other sites in Delhi, the Delhi Police is expanding its bomb detection, disposal, and dog squads across all 15 districts. Presently centralized under the Crime Branch, these units face increased workload due to multiple hoax threats using VPNs. The initiative aims to decentralize operations, ensuring faster responses to emergencies with more personnel, specialized equipment, and additional canine units strategically positioned throughout the city. Plans include acquiring new detection gadgets and bulletproof gear while potentially increasing the number of dogs and handlers.
