The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has appointed former Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao as its coordinator for both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. TDP State president K. Atchannaidu announced the decision, acknowledging Rao’s extensive political experience. Despite aspirations to contest from the Mylavaram Assembly constituency, Rao faced an unexpected challenge when TDP declared his arch-rival, Vasantha Krishna Prasad, as its candidate. Prasad, a sitting MLA from the YSR Congress Party, recently joined TDP, adding an interesting dynamic to the electoral landscape in Mylavaram.
