Researchers from the RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences and Kyoto University, in collaboration with IFOM ETS in Italy, have identified rare helper T cells linked to immune disorders like multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and asthma. Using their new ReapTEC technology, they found nearly 63,000 genetic enhancers in these rare T cells, with many linked to specific immune diseases. By combining ReapTEC results with genome-wide association studies, they identified 606 enhancers related to 18 immune diseases.
