An analysis of the past five years reveals that the DMK-led front has regained some of the lost vote base from the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly election. In the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the coalition secured victory in all 39 constituencies, with the DMK’s vote share increasing by 1.6 percentage points. Factors such as coalition unity, DMK’s welfare schemes, and the addition of Makkal Needhi Maiam contributed to this improvement. Despite this, the coalition’s performance in 2019 remains its peak. The AIADMK’s declining vote share also benefited the DMK. Notably, 12 DMK-led winners received over 50% of the votes.
