The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) projects a Rs 10,000 crore deficit in FY24 receipts compared to the revised target, mainly due to payment adjustments for BSNL, reported by Financial Express. These adjustments, part of a 2022 revival package, involve spectrum and AGR dues settlement for BSNL, classified as non-cash receipts. In contrast, private operators contribute actual revenues through fees and auction proceeds. BSNL’s AGR dues, amounting to Rs 22,521 crore up to FY22, were addressed via equity shares issuance.
