The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of acting as a political tool for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and targeting Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to gain insight into the party’s Lok Sabha election strategy. AAP leader Atishi claimed that the ED’s insistence on accessing Kejriwal’s phone, which is relatively new and was not in use during the period of the excise policy under investigation, indicates political motives. She alleged that the BJP is interested in obtaining information related to AAP’s election plans and collaborations with other opposition parties. The excise policy, implemented in 2021-22, was scrapped amid corruption allegations.
