The Election Commission of India aims to boost voter turnout in approximately 5,000 polling booths across Karnataka, where voter participation fell below the state average of 68% during the 2019 parliamentary polls. Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Meena highlights 43 urban Assembly constituencies with below-average turnout, including all 28 constituencies in Bengaluru, as well as some in Mysuru, Tumakuru, Davangere, Mangaluru, Kalaburagi, and Vijayapura. Efforts are underway to improve voter engagement and enhance democratic participation in these areas.
