The Forest Department, continuing its search for an elusive leopard, has extended its operation to Perambalur district. Suspected to have moved from Mayiladuthurai, the leopard was last spotted in Ariyalur’s Sendurai area. Despite deploying infrared cameras and expert teams, the animal remains untraceable, with only pug marks found in Vanjinapuram. Concerned about its movement towards Vayalapadi and Chinnar for water, the department has placed cameras and cages in these areas. The operation aims to ensure the safety of residents and the animal’s well-being.
