Since the announcement of poll schedule on March 16, State and Central enforcement agencies have collectively seized cash, liquor, and other items amounting to over ₹100 crore. Vigilance efforts by agencies like the State Police, Excise, Commercial Taxes, Income Tax, and Customs have intensified to curb voter allurements. The State police department leads with seizures worth ₹46.99 crore, followed by the State Excise department with ₹25.70 crore in confiscated liquor and other allurements. This heightened monitoring reflects efforts to ensure fair elections and combat electoral malpractices.
