A tragic bus accident near Gangnani on the Gangotri National Highway in Uttarakhand claimed the lives of three women and left 24 others injured. The bus, carrying 27 pilgrims from Gangotri to Uttarkashi, veered off the road, broke through a crash barrier, and became lodged in a tree on the gorge’s edge. Prompt rescue efforts ensued, with the injured transported to nearby medical facilities. The deceased were identified as residents of Rudrapur and Haldwani. This accident spot has seen previous tragedies, including a 2010 incident that claimed 27 lives and another in 2023 resulting in seven deaths.
