The Food Corporation of India (FCI) has announced procurement of 26.6 million tonnes of wheat during the current Rabi Marketing Season (RMS) 2024-25, surpassing last year’s figures. This early and robust procurement benefited 2.2 million farmers who received payments totaling Rs 61 lakh crore directly into their bank accounts at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 2,275 per quintal.
