FIFA, the global football governing body, is set to transfer more than 100 staff positions, including its legal department, from Zurich to Miami as part of its decentralization efforts. Previously, FIFA had already relocated some of its member associations department to Paris and opened offices in Miami to assist with organizing the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The move to Miami is seen as strategic due to its proximity to the CONCACAF region, which includes North and Central America and the Caribbean, as well as easy connections to South America. This move aligns with FIFA’s global vision and expansion plans, with its headquarters remaining in Zurich.
