First Lady Jill Biden has tested positive for COVID-19, according to her spokesperson, but is experiencing only mild symptoms. In contrast, President Joe Biden’s test results have come back negative. The White House press secretary stated that President Biden will continue regular testing and symptom monitoring.
As a precaution, Jill Biden will remain at their Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, home for the time being. She had planned to begin the new school year teaching English and writing at Northern Virginia Community College but is now working with school officials to arrange substitute teachers due to her condition.
The first lady had recently traveled with the president to inspect hurricane damage in Florida. President Biden had spent part of the Labor Day weekend at their Delaware beach house before attending a union event in Philadelphia and returning to the White House.
Both the Bidens had previously contracted COVID-19 last summer.
