India’s Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, announced that G20 countries will begin sharing information under the Crypto Asset Reporting Framework (CARF) by 2027. She mentioned that a CARF group was established in September 2023 to facilitate this process. During the G20 meeting, the roadmap for crypto asset regulation was accepted, and there will be a focus on monitoring the implementation of regulatory activities, cross-border information sharing, and expanding the roadmap beyond G20 countries in the next presidency (Brazil). Additionally, Sitharaman addressed concerns about the Israel-Palestine conflict potentially impacting the India-Middle East-European Economic Corridor (IMEC) and emphasized the long-term nature of the IMEC initiative.
