State-owned gas utility GAIL (India) witnessed a remarkable surge in its fourth-quarter net profit, soaring by 261% compared to the same period last year. The company’s standalone net profit stood at Rs 2,176.97 crore for the quarter ending in 2023-24. This growth was primarily attributed to a turnaround in its natural gas transmission and petrochemicals business, coupled with an increase in gas marketing activities. Despite a slight dip from the preceding quarter, the significant year-on-year rise underscores GAIL’s robust performance in key sectors.
