Goa aims to become a preferred destination for digital nomads by developing co-working spaces, known as ‘sea hubs,’ along its beaches. The state government, led by Tourism and IT Minister Rohan Khaunte, plans to enhance infrastructure, including high-speed internet in rural areas, to attract remote workers and stimulate technology investment. Khaunte envisions a seamless blend of work and leisure, with co-working shacks allowing individuals to surf, enjoy local cuisine, and work at designated workstations. The government is also pursuing 100% internet connectivity and exploring the possibility of a ‘digital nomad’ visa category to further bolster the initiative.
