Godrej Agrovet Ltd (GAVL) is set to invest Rs 300 crore over the next 3-4 years in establishing a pioneering integrated palm oil complex in Telangana’s Khammam district. Spanning 125 acres, the complex will feature a crude palm oil mill, with plans for a future refinery, and a nursery capable of producing 7 lakh saplings annually. Aligned with Telangana’s ambitious oil palm mission, aiming for 20 lakh acres under cultivation, the project will significantly enhance income for over 5 lakh farm households, contributing to India’s edible oil production. GAVL, partnering with the State Bank of India, will provide advisory services and financial support to oil palm plantation farmers. Currently cultivating 65,000 hectares nationwide, GAVL aims to expand to 1.2 lakh hectares by 2027, supporting farmers with quality seedlings and pioneering farming practices.
