Godrej Locks is targeting to increase its market share from 30% to 50% within three years by introducing a new range of affordable products and reducing prices of existing ones. Shyam Motwani, the business head, stated that the newly-launched products are over 50% more affordable, with existing locks seeing a 7-8% price reduction. The focus is on tier-2, 3, and 4 cities, where there’s a significant opportunity. The company aims to deepen its distribution in smaller cities, doubling its reach to over 700 towns. Despite price cuts, profitability remains robust, with turnover doubling in the last three years. Investments are directed towards automation and new model design to maintain competitiveness.
