Google introduces its custom Arm-based CPU, the Axion processor, designed specifically for data centers. The Axion processors power core services like Google Earth Engine and YouTube Ads platform, offering up to 30% better performance than existing Arm-based processors. Additionally, they boast up to 50% improved performance and 60% better energy efficiency compared to x86-based solutions. Google plans to make Axion processors available to Cloud customers later this year, enabling their use in various Google Cloud services such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Dataproc, Dataflow, and Cloud Batch.
