Google’s Project Gameface, initially for PCs, is now expanding to Android. It’s an open-source hands-free gaming mouse, using head movements and facial gestures to control the cursor. Inspired by a quadriplegic gamer, Lance Carr, it aims to empower differently abled individuals cost-effectively. Developers can customize controls, and Google plans to extend beyond gaming, collaborating with Incluzza in India. Leveraging MediaPipe’s API, facial gestures control Android functions. Unlike Apple’s eye-tracking, Gameface uses head and facial gestures and is open-source, enabling third-party app integration.
