HealthCare Global Enterprises Limited (HCG) has acquired Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital & Research Institute (MGCHRI) in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh, for Rs 414 crore. Initially holding a 51% stake, HCG plans to increase its ownership to 85% over 18 months. MGCHRI, reporting strong financials with revenue of Rs 110 crore in FY23, aligns with HCG’s strategy to enhance cancer care in the region. The acquisition targets to bridge the gap in radiation therapy equipment and strengthen operational efficiencies, aiming to deliver comprehensive care solutions and improve healthcare outcomes.
