Severe waterlogging, house damage, and uprooted trees were reported. The India Meteorological Department issued a red alert for Kottayam and Ernakulam, while other districts faced orange and yellow alerts. Kochi saw significant flooding, slowing traffic and confining residents indoors. In Thiruvananthapuram, uprooted trees and overflowing streams caused damage, and a house was hit by a falling tree. The Aruvikkara dam’s shutters were raised due to the heavy rain.
