Indian auto components manufacturer Rane Madras Limited (RML) has inaugurated its first overseas facility in Mexico. The greenfield plant, operating under the wholly-owned subsidiary Rane Automotive Components Mexico (RACM), will produce steering and suspension components for passenger vehicles. The facility aims to tap into the North American market, supplying inner and outer ball joints to a tier-1 supplier for an upcoming electric vehicle platform. RML plans an initial investment of up to $6 million in the Mexican subsidiary over the next 12 to 18 months, with discussions underway for partnerships with OEMs like Ford, GM, and Honda.
