Hyundai Motor India has finalized the acquisition of General Motors India’s manufacturing plant at Talegaon, Maharashtra. The automaker also revealed plans to invest Rs 6,000 crore in the state as part of an agreement with the government. Hyundai aims to enhance its manufacturing capacity in India and views the Talegaon plant as pivotal in reaching its 1 million annual production capacity goal. Manufacturing operations at Talegaon are scheduled to commence in 2025. The plant’s acquisition reinforces Hyundai’s commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat and positions India as a hub for advanced smart mobility solutions.
