Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) achieved a notable 7% year-on-year increase in total sales for May, reaching 63,551 units compared to 59,601 units in May 2023. Domestic dispatches witnessed a modest 1% rise, totaling 49,151 units, while exports experienced a significant surge of 31% to 14,400 units. Despite facing a week-long routine bi-annual maintenance shutdown at their Sriperumbudur factory, HMIL’s Chief Operating Officer, Tarun Garg, expressed satisfaction with the overall sales volume. Garg highlighted the pivotal role of SUVs, contributing to over 67% of domestic sales.
