The Income Tax Department has deployed a team of 100 officers and employees across Uttarakhand’s five Lok Sabha seats to prevent the flow of black money and unaccounted cash during the upcoming elections. The department is closely monitoring election activities through a 24-hour control room, while special teams are stationed at airports, railway stations, and border checkpoints. T. S. Mapwal has been appointed as the state’s nodal officer for election-related matters. Additionally, the department issued a summons to Congress candidate Ganesh Godiyal, contesting from the Pauri Garhwal constituency, regarding financial matters. The Lok Sabha elections in Uttarakhand are scheduled for April 19, covering all five constituencies.
