Pavan Davuluri, an IIT Madras alumnus, has been named the new head of Microsoft Windows and Surface, succeeding Panos Panay. According to reports, Davuluri will lead Surface silicon and devices efforts, aiming to integrate systems and experiences across Windows client and cloud platforms in the AI era. Mikhail Parakhin will head a team focused on Windows and web experiences, following his previous roles in Bing and Edge. With 23 years at Microsoft, Davuluri brings extensive experience, having worked on PC, Xbox hardware, Surface, and Windows. His promotion coincides with the hiring of Mustafa Suleyman, former DeepMind co-founder, as head of Microsoft AI.
