In preparation for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections on November 17, both the BJP and Congress have been making efforts to mend fences with upset leaders and persuade them to withdraw their nominations. Some prominent leaders, including Jeetendra Daga, Javier Meda, Kamlesh Agrawal, and Ramesh Malviya, have reconsidered their candidatures. Daga, a Congress rebel, withdrew after a meeting with Congress candidate Naresh Gyanchandani, where Gyanchandani touched his feet in a symbolic gesture. Senior party leaders, including Amit Shah, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Kamal Nath, and Digvijaya Singh, have been engaged in reconciliatory efforts to bring these leaders back into the party fold. The withdrawal of nominations is seen as a respite for both parties, as they aim to tackle the challenge posed by rebels in several constituencies.
