Mansukh Mandaviya, the Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers, has announced that India is on track to cease importing urea by the end of 2025. This achievement is attributed to a concerted effort to bolster domestic manufacturing and promote alternative fertilisers like nano liquid urea and nano liquid di-ammonium phosphate (DAP). Mandaviya outlined the government’s strategy, which includes reviving closed urea plants and increasing domestic production capacities. With a target to replace conventional urea usage with nano liquid urea, the aim is to bridge the gap between domestic production and demand.
